Heterogeneous Destruction of Nitrous Oxide by Char
نویسنده
چکیده
Reduction of N2O by chars from subbituminous Siersza, Piast and Janina coals have been studied in a pressurised reactor at 973 1173 K. It has been found that the reaction N2O + [C] N2 + [CO] is controlled both by the chemical kinetics and diffusion of N2O within char particle's pores. The rate constant of the above reaction has been found to be independent of pressure within the examined range of 0.2 – 1.0 MPa.

Reduction of Nitric Oxide on the Char Surface at Pulverized Combustion Conditions
This study presents an experimental evaluation of the rate of nitric oxide reduction on the char surface. It addresses the claim that the rate for the destruction of nitric oxide on the char surface has been underpredicted due to char deactivation in the process of char formation. Experiments conducted with chars produced in situ, char previously produced at pulverized combustion conditions, an...
متن کاملP110: Nitrous Oxide and Neuroinflammation
Nitrous oxide was an anaesthetic gas that was used for many years. There were many anaesthetic drugs in operations with many side effects. Nitrous oxide had some side effects too. But it was a safe gas in many times. In hospital personnel who worked in operating rooms exposure to this gas was important. The objective of this study was the introduction of nitrous oxide and neurologic side ...
متن کاملNitrous oxide cycling in the Black Sea inferred from stable isotope and isotopomer distributions
The low-oxygen regions of the world’s oceans have been shown to be major sources of nitrous oxide, a trace gas in the atmosphere that contributes to both greenhouse warming and the destruction of stratospheric ozone. Nitrous oxide can be produced as a by-product of nitrification or an intermediate of denitrification; low oxygen conditions enhance the yield of nitrous oxide from both pathways. W...
متن کاملComparing Vitamin B12 and Nitrous Oxide Neurotoxicity in Operating Room Staff and other Hospital Staff: A Multicenter Study
Background and purpose: Nitrous oxide (N2O) is an anesthetic widely used in operating rooms. Chronic exposure to N2O causes decrease in mental performance, peripheral neuropathy, and polyneuropathy. The aim of this study was to compare neurological complications caused by N2O exposure between operating room staff and other hospital staff. Materials and methods: In this multicenter cohort study...
متن کاملShort Communication Emissions of nitrous oxide from runoff-irrigated and rainfed soils in semiarid north-west Kenya
Nitrous oxide is an important greenhouse gas and contributes to stratospheric ozone destruction, but still little is known about emissions of this trace gas from soils in semiarid environments and how emissions are affected by irrigation. Therefore, nitrous oxide emissions from a runoff-irrigated and rainfed endosodi-calcaric Fluvisol in the semiarid northwest of Kenya were measured using the c...
